You’ve likely seen Halloween and fall décor popping up in stores as soon as August. For retailers, September is prime time to begin fall marketing, and it’s a good time for skin care professionals too, especially since clients will be in need of replenishing dry, summer skin.

Pumpkin provides us the perfect opportunity to take care of both – fun promotions and skin rejuvenation. Seasonal pumpkin treatments and products are power-packed with antioxidants perfect for shedding dehydrated, dull summer skin and achieving healthy, hydrated, radiance – not to mention their deliciously tantalizing aroma.

The Power of Pumpkin

Pumpkin is a true super food. It provides a potent supply of potassium, zinc, vitamins and beta-carotene. When applied to the skin it delivers antioxidants, vitamins, and naturally occurring enzymes and alpha-hydroxy acids, which makes it a powerhouse ingredient in the treatment room.

A little-known fact: pumpkin is actually a fruit and it contains the highest content of naturally occurring vitamin A and beta-carotene among other fruits. It also contains high doses of vitamin C, B1, B2, B5 and E. Because of its high antioxidant and vitamin count it helps remove toxins trapped deep in the pores and neutralizes free radicals.

Pumpkin is often referred to as nature’s “natural collagen,” because it promotes cell turnover and regeneration. It is high in zinc, so it also naturally protects the skin from UVA/UVB rays.

Bringing Pumpkin into the Treatment Room

Rhonda Allison developed several seasonal, pumpkin-based treatments to address specific skin needs:

  • Pumpkin Delight – this intense progressive treatment improves texture, brightens pigmented skin by grabbing and dispersing melanin, and infuses the skin with antioxidants. It’s also a great chest peel.
  • Pumpkin Refresher Treatment – replenishes dry summer skin and delivers two of the most important vitamins – vitamin A and beta-carotene – to the skin. You will notice smoother texture and brighter skin.
  • Pumpkin Peptide Peel – exfoliates skin cells, stimulates collagen activity and cell turnover while delivering vital antioxidants to the skin. Skin will look more youthful and radiant.
  • Pumpkin Body Facial – this delicious body treatment has natural surface-reducing lipids and essential oils, which work together to deliver antioxidants and vitamins to the body. This treatment will leave skin renewed, hydrated, toned, and soft.

To help boost the effects of the treatments, you can also use at home a few pumpkin favorites like the Pumpkin CleanserPumpkin E SerumPumpkin Parfait EnzymePumpkin Lotion. These will provide cell protection and nutrition, hydration, and cell turnover.
